It was announced today that Mercedes-Benz has purchased a 75.1% stake in Brawn GP, and will be entering the 2010 Formula World Championship under the Mercedes-Benz name. For the first time in 75-years, Mercedes will run it’s own factory-supported F1 team.

I will be interested to see the Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix team livery for the 2010 season. I am excited by visions of the W25, W125, or W196, their bare aluminium finish, red numbers, outlined with black trim, set inside a white circular shield, interpreted onto a modern F1 car. Surely, a better look than the black and neon-yellow livery that Brawn GP sported throughout the 2009 season on their way to their one (and apparently only) World Drivers’ and World Constructors’ Championships.

It is hard to believe that one-year ago, our son was born. The little guy has come a long way since being born 7-weeks early, and spending 25-days in the NICU. Happy 1st Birthday Carson! We all love you!

It is with sadness and a heavy heart that I post this… In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 1st, Erika Meyer, a close friend since high school, passed away from complications due to cancer.

In late-June, Erika was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of uterine cancer, called MMMT, which affects some ridiculously low percentage of females…nearly all of whom are over the age of 65. Yet, despite being diagnosed with this rare and poorly understood form of cancer, Erika kept a fantastic attitude. And although there were very difficult times, and the reality of her diagnosis was daunting, she never stopped fighting and looking forward. Erika lived her life to the fullest, laughing, joking and finding humor in situations that someone not facing cancer would probably never even see. Testament to this can be seen in her Cancer Sucks blog, which she started keeping after receiving her diagnosis, and to all those who knew her.
